In the RAS sub-branch, which is one of the technical sub-branches of IEEE Bilkent, we provide basic training on electronics and aim to teach electronics with love without any grade anxiety. As a result of these programs, we create various teams that represent Bilkent University in competitions. This year, in addition to our now-classic Introduction to Electronics and Arduino trainings that we have given in the past years, we will be presenting you with interesting new trainings, more advanced Drone 101 courses that we started in 2018, and of course brand new competition and project ideas.
IEEE Bilkent Student Society Computer Society is a technical society affiliated to IEEE Bilkent Student Society. The society, which started to be established in May 2008, started to operate in the 2008 – 2009 academic year while the establishment and structuring process was continuing. As IEEE Bilkent CS, we aim to bring together everyone interested in computers. As the only computer society at IEEE Bilkent University, our aim is to bring together not only engineering or computer engineering students, but also anyone who wants to be interested in any computer-related topic.
Industry Applications Society (IAS), a sub-branch of IEEE Bilkent, acts as a bridge between students and companies. With the career events and alumni talks it organizes, it offers students the chance to get to know life after graduation in advance. IEEE Bilkent IAS brings companies that have achieved many successes in their sectors together with students and introduces business life to students, while at the same time allowing students to gain experience from people who have just stepped into business life through alumni chats. It provides consultancy services for people who want to direct their careers and students looking for internships. In addition, IAS is in one-to-one contact with companies, organizes joint projects with various companies to ensure that companies are active within the university, and helps students to see the company environment with company trips. IAS organizes regular events every year such as Career Forum, Alumni Talks and company tours. IAS also supports the organization of the Industry-Oriented Graduation Projects Fair organized by Bilkent University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department every year.

The IEEE Bilkent Communications Society promotes technological innovation by fostering the creation and sharing of knowledge within the global technical community. It aims to bring the world together in harmony through research, application, and education in communications and networking technologies, while incubating new ideas. The society embraces a broad spectrum of science and technology related to information organization, collection, and transfer using electronic, optical, and wireless channels and networks. This includes areas such as systems and network architecture, control and management; protocols, software, and middleware; quality of service, reliability, and security; modulation, detection, coding, and signaling; switching and routing; mobile and portable communications; end-user devices; networks for content distribution and distributed computing; and communications-based distributed resource control. Through these efforts, the society plays a crucial role in advancing standards and applications that shape the future of global connectivity.
The Technical Activities Committee (TAC), a sub-branch of IEEE Bilkent, is a technical organization. It organizes activities together with other technical branches of the Society such as RAS, IAS, CS. The main purpose of the Technical Activities Committee is to strengthen the bond between undergraduate students studying at Bilkent University and graduate and doctoral students who have graduated and continue their studies in academic circles. To this end, it supports the organization of the GRC (Graduate Research Conference), which is held every year jointly with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bilkent University. It organizes various events where graduate students can establish closer relationships with undergraduate students than a seminar environment and share their experiences. As IEEE Bilkent Technical Activities Committee, our aim is to provide everyone who wants to take part in the club’s activities with information about the environment they would like to be in after graduation and to help them with their career planning.

Welcome to the IEEE Bilkent Web Team! As a core part of IEEE Bilkent, we strive to empower students through digital innovation and community engagement. Our team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the official IEEE Bilkent website, along with creating various digital platforms to support our society’s events and initiatives.
With a strong focus on educating our members, we offer workshops and hands-on experiences that cover everything from foundational web development to advanced design principles. We also organize events like Speed Networking and collaborate closely with other IEEE Bilkent branches to build and enhance tools for our community. Whether you’re new to web development or looking to hone your skills, join us in building an inclusive and connected digital environment at Bilkent!
The Women in Engineering (WiE) committee of IEEE is the largest international professional organization that supports women interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics to be more active, equal and free in their professional lives. WiE Bilkent, as an affiliate of IEEE Bilkent, is committed to making women more active in these fields and in the business world. It encourages female students who aim to pursue a career in engineering, supports women in leadership and career development, tries to find solutions to the problems women face in business life, and supports female engineering students. In the light of these, it introduces women to business life; informs people about the conditions, advantages and disadvantages, possible problems and tries to find solutions to existing problems. By raising awareness among the students of the university, WiE Bilkent tries to raise awareness about the problems faced by women engineers and the problems of every woman who works and wants to work. The target audience of WiE Bilkent events and projects generally includes high school and university students, academics and individuals pursuing a career in these fields. IEEE Bilkent encompasses WiE and supports the presence of women in all fields, from engineering to science, from science to arts.
The Vol-E Project (“Volunteer Engineers” Project), organized by the IEEE Bilkent YEA sub-branch, introduces high school students and their parents from underserved cities to engineering disciplines through an immersive 2-day workshop at Bilkent University. Aimed at 11th and 12th-grade students, the project offers a unique opportunity to experience university life, explore labs in Electrical-Electronics, Computer, Mechanical, and Industrial Engineering, and engage with current Bilkent engineering students. Through hands-on lab work and open Q&A sessions, participants gain insights that guide their future university and department decisions. The project was launched in Yozgat in 2019 and continues to reach new cities.
The Towards University event, also organized by IEEE Bilkent YEA, hosts top-performing high school students from across Turkey for a 2-day workshop focused on engineering education and career guidance. Participants explore engineering disciplines through lab experiences, interact with Bilkent students, and receive support in making informed decisions about their university and department preferences. This program aims to inspire students with a clear vision of their potential paths in engineering and their academic future.
